HOW DOI KNOW IF I NEED THERAPY?
A therapist is a trained professional with whom you build a relationship that empowers individuals, families, and groups to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, and career goals.
WHAT CAN A THERAPIST DO?
A LMHC has completed 60 graduate hours from a major university, is fully trained in all models of therapy and mental disorders, and has been qualified by assessment from the NBCC. Finally, they are licensed by the state in which they practice.
WHAT IS A LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR?
Marriage counseling is most effective when both you and your spouse attend. However, there may be times when you or your spouse are seen individually. If you're unsure it's best to contact the therapist directly.
DO I BRING MY SPOUSE IF I AM MARRIED?
Average sessions range between $75 and $200, depending on length. We accept most major insurance plans and have private pay arrangements for interested clients.

IS COUNSELING EXPENSIVE
?
Utilizing your employer-provided insurance shouldn't notify anyone at work that you're seeing a counselor. They will not receive your therapy session information, either.
WILL MY EMPLOYER KNOW IF I AM GOING TO COUNSELING?
Yes! Our practice accepts Iowa Medicaid including Amerigroup, Iowa Total Care and Molina in June 2023.
We cannot accept Illinois Medicaid.
DO YOU ACCEPT MEDICAID

ARE YOU CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS?
Our therapists are not licensed physicians and therefore cannot prescribe medications however we do work closely with psychiatrists, physicians and nurse practitioners in the QC to provide the most comprehensive care.
CAN A THERAPIST PRESCRIBE MEDICATION?
Yes! We have several counselors who can help with substance abuse issues and your therapist can discuss other supplements to therapy such as groups, programs and psychoeducation.

WHAT OTHER KINDS OF COUNSELING DO YOU OFFER
?
Each therapist brings their own philosophy and personality to the therapeutic relationship but the common traits in a successful therapeutic relationship are empathy, unconditional positive regard and nonjudgement.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING THERAPY?
Sessions can range in length from 30 minutes to 60 minutes.
Total duration of therapy is up to you and your therapist and this can be a question that you bring up in your first session.
HOW LONG WILL I BE IN THERAPY
?
We do not.
All of our services are outpatient--meaning that you come and go as you see fit.
