Rachel is available to work with teens, adults and children, ages 5 and older. Common concerns she works with include helping clients develop awareness and improve coping skills to manage anxiety, depression, postpartum symptoms, grief, substance abuse, historical trauma, relational stressors and eating disorders (treatment on outpatient basis only).
Throughout therapy, Rachel will join you where you are on this part of your journey and encourage you to become an active participant in your healing process. She strives to provide a compassionate and accepting environment where you feel understood. Rachel believes in building a strong therapeutic relationship as the primary modality of change in order to address your individual needs. When collaborating, she will utilize techniques that employ your strengths to help you thrive. Her therapeutic lens includes a combination of cognitive behavioral, client-centered and Adlerian therapy, along with warmth and humor to address mental and emotional stressors that may interfere with your day-to-day functioning.
Rachel is a fully Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Iowa and earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Western Illinois University-Quad Cities. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Iowa. Outside of private practice, her experience extends to a variety of settings including community-based mental health centers, school-based therapy and residential substance abuse treatment centers.
